According to the Nihon Keizai newspaper, Pioneer plans to increase its PDP (Plasma Display Panel) production for use in the company's PDP TVs by 50% to 710,000 units in the fiscal year 2006, which runs through March 2007. Pioneer also intends to increase the production share of panels for high-end PDP TV models in order to boost revenues. Meanwhile, the company plans to reduce OEM production of PDPs by 50% to 70,000 units.
