SK Hynix Restores Partial Production at Wuxi Plant

SK Hynix is reportedly to have resumed part of the production at its Wuxi plant, China, according to Korea IT Times on September 9. The plant, which mainly makes DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) chips for smartphones and PCs, halted production when a fire broke out on September 4 during equipment installation at the production lines. The company announced that it had restarted operation of one of the production lines, which was not hit by fire, after implementing safety checkup. Further inspections and reconstruction will be required for other production lines damaged by fire, said the company. It is yet to know when the plant can resume full production.
