Chinese Hanvon to Make Foray into the US E-reader Market in mid-2011

e-book device manufacturer Hanvon Technology announced that the company prepares
to release an e-reader in the United States by June or July 2011, according to
a January 7, 2011 report by Bloomberg. It is reported that Hanvon plans to
launch an e-reader device with a 9.7-inch screen for educational and
professional users. It is estimated that Hanvon accounts for approximately 70%
share of the Chinese e-reader market, according to the same source. Kindle is
projected to have taken approximately 10% market share from Hanvon in the
Chinese e-reader market ever since Amazon released the international version of
Kindle in 2010, according to Bloomberg again.
