Sony Launches Google TV in the United States

Sony
unveiled four high-definition TV models and one Blu-ray
player or STB (Set-Top-Box) on October 12, 2010 that allow users to easily
access Internet content and watch TV at the same time, according to Bloomberg. It
is reported that Sony's Internet TVs use Google's Android OS and Intel's Atom
chip and features Wi-Fi connectivity. The TVs come in four sizes, 46-inch,
40-inch, 32-inch, and 24-inch, selling for US$1,399.99, US$999.99, US$799.99,
and US$599.99, respectively, according to the same source. The Blue-ray player
is reported to be sold at US$399.99. The TVs and STB are equipped with a
specially-designed remote control that features an optical mouse and a QWERTY
keyboard. The four Google TVs and STB are sold in the United States only.
