Chinese ZTE, Taiwanese Vibo Telecom Sign 3G Deal

Chinese telecom equipment supplier ZTE announced
on September 27, 2010 that the company has entered into a WCDMA (Wideband Code
Division Multiple Access) wireless equipment supply agreement with Taiwanese 3G
mobile communication services provider Vibo Telecom, according to a press
release by ZTE. As per the agreement, ZTE is expected to provide more than 3,500
SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology-based 3G base stations for Vibo Telecom
in order to upgrade Vibo Telecom's current 3G network within one year. It is
reported that ZTE will also help Vibo Telecom launch 21.6 Mbps HSPA+ (Evolved
High Speed Packet Access) mobile broadband services in Taiwan.
