Taiwanese WiMAX carrier FITEL announced on September 9, 2010 the rollout ofiMAX service in Hsinchu
area in northern Taiwan, according the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. It is
reported that after the company received the WiMAX license from the government,
it has been working on the integration between PHS (Personal Hand-phone System)
service and WiMAX, aiming to provide users with both PHS and WiMAX services.

Taiwanese WiMAX carriers Far EasTone Telecommunications and Tatung InfoComm announced
on September 15, 2010 that the two companies will jointly provide free WiMAX roaming
service, according to the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. It is reported that
users in Taichung City, Kaohsiung City, and Penghu County will be able to enjoy
the free roaming service from September 15 to December 31, 2010.

Vee Time announced on September 16, 2010 that the company plans to invest
NT$100 million (US$3.2 million; US$1=NT$31.7) in providing WiMAX service in
taxis and buses in Taichung area of central Taiwan, according to the Economic
Daily News of Taiwan. It is reported that through the new service, users will
be able to enjoy internet access, interactive TV service, and smart navigation
via touchscreen devices installed in taxis and buses.
