ZTE Selected by Telenor to Build Mobile Network for US$254 Mln in Hungary

telecom equipment supplier ZTE has obtained a contract from Norwegian telecom
operator Telenor to build a mobile network in Hungary, according to an August
23, 2010 report by the Financial Times. It is reported that the deal is estimated
at 200 million Euro (US$254 million, US$1=0.79 Euro). As per the contract, ZTE
is expected to build a complete network for Telenor in Hungary, including 2G,
3G and 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) to support multi-band wireless services for
4.5 million users. ZTE plans to deploy 6,000 base stations throughout Hungary over
the next five years.
