NTT DoCoMo is likely to raise the company's investment in Indian mobile phone
operator Tata Teleservices, according to an August 11 report by the Economic
Times of India. It is reported that NTT DoCoMo plans to inject an additional
US$1 billion into Tata Teleservices. It is expected that it will probably take
several months before the investment deal is completed. NTT DoCoMo first purchased
Tata Teleservices shares in 2009, and it is projected that after the further investment
is finalized, NTT DoCoMo will own 35% to 40% stake in Tata Teleservices, up
from the current 26%.
