HTC to Sell Microsoft WP7 Smartphones in US, Europe

Smartphone manufacturer HTC has entered into agreements with US-based telecom
operators AT&T and T-Mobile and Europe-based Orange to sell the WP7
(Windows Phone 7)-based Smartphones, according to an August 9, 2010 report by
the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. Microsoft plans to unveil the new WP7 phones
in October or November this year in the United States and in major European
countries, and it is reported that HTC will be the first Smartphone manufacturer
to release WP7 phones in the markets. WP7-powered HTC Gold is slated for sales
in the United Kingdom between October and November 2010. As for the US market,
HTC is expected to cooperate with AT&T and T-Mobile. WP7 mobile phones will
be available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish in the initial
phase, according to the same source.
