HTC Builds Taipei Headquarters, to Hire 2,200

Taiwanese Smartphone manufacturer HTC held a
groundbreaking ceremony on April 2 for its new headquarters in Sindian, Taipei
County, Economic Daily News of Taiwan reported. Overall investments in the new
headquarters are projected at NT$3.38 billion (US$107.3 million; US$1=NT$31.5),
with completion slated for year-end 2011. The building will have 17 floors
above ground and five underground, covering a total floor space of around
85,600 square meters. A total of 11 floors will accommodate HTC's R&D
teams, and the company expects to hire up to 2,200 employees for operations at
this new headquarters.
