Panasonic to Advance LCD Panel Production at Himeji Plant

Japan's Panasonic plans to advance the
commencement of mass production at a new LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel
plant to early April, three months ahead of the original schedule, according to
a Yomiuri Shimbun report on March 28. The new plant is located in Himeji, Hyogo
Prefecture, in western Japan. Construction on the Himeji plant started in July
2008 and trial production is currently underway. Panasonic's Himeji plant is projected
with a production capacity of 4.8 million sheets of 32-inch LCD TV panels annually.
