China's Amoi Electronics Outsources Sales, Production of 2G/2.5G Mobile Phones
April 18, 2009
Chinese mobile phone maker Amoi Electronics, which has issued delisting warning to investors pending the outcome of its 2008 financial report, has started outsourcing the sales and production of 2G and 2.5G mobile phones to an unspecified company, according to reports by Sina News and Interfax-China on April 13. Products affected include GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile phones. Amoi will retain 3G-related operations for itself, though. Amoi is scheduled to announce its 2008 financial report on April 30, 2009. Should the report indicate that Amoi has incurred losses for its business operations in 2008, the company will delist from the Shanghai Stock Exchange starting on April 30.
