Taiwanese Quanta and Foxconn reportedly have secured separate contract manufacturing orders from Apple for its latest MacBook lineup, according to a Dow Jones report on October 16, citing Taiwanese newspaper Apple Daily. The latest lineup was launched on October 15 with a price tag of US$999. It is reported that the two Taiwanese contract suppliers will manufacture a total of around 300,000-400,000 Apple's MacBooks initially. Additionally, Foxconn will also deliver notebook PC key components. Further details regarding the value of orders were not yet disclosed though.
