Huawei Bags Separate Network Expansion Deals in Singapore, Southern Germany

Chinese Huawei has signed a contract with Singaporean mobile phone operator MobileOne, whereby Huawei will supply related equipment for the expansion and enhancement of MobileOne's 3G HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) network, China's Sohu News reported. As per the agreement, Huawi will also build an all-IP (Internet Protocol) network for MobileOne. Financial details of this deal were not disclosed, though.

Meanwhile in Europe, Huawei has won a network expansion contract from Telefonica's O2 unit. According to the contract, Huawei will deploy network infrastructure - including over 8,000 GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) base stations - for O2's network in southern Germany, AFX News reported. Completion of the network expansion project is slated by year-end 2009.
