MIC reports that global software market scale will come to US$660 billion in 2017, from US$547.8 billion this year, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3%, reported United Evening News on September 18. In particular, the Taiwanese software market scale will top NT$77.7 billion (US$2.57 billion; US$1=NT$30.236) in 2017, rising from NT$67.8 billion (US$2.24 billion) in 2014. Growth momentum will mainly come from embedded software, software suites and enterprise solutions.
It is also observed that, from 2014 to 2017, market scales of cloud services and big data software in Taiwan will surge to reach NT$15 billion (US$496 million) and NT$3.4 billion (US$112 million), respectively, up from NT$11.6 billion (US$384 million) and NT$2.1 billion (US$69.4 million) this year, said MIC.
