The server system industry's shipment volume reached around 1.135 million units, up 3.7% sequentially in the second quarter of 2012. Compared to the second quarter of last year, the industry witnessed growth albeit at a slower rate. Following the launch of new server platform Romely, production capacity for new platform has yet to be built during the transition period between new and older platforms, thereby having toll on the industry's second-quarter shipment growth. In addition, as the global economic uncertainty persists, some leading enterprises and governments around the world continue to be conservative towards IT spending.
