A series of strategies for mergers and competition have been observed in the cloud computing market for software and hardware products. The current situation goes to show that the competition among cloud computing solution providers is intensifying and many major providers worldwide are focusing on the private cloud business for enterprises' internal use. It is expected that a large number of cloud computing products will be released and developed in the next two to three years. Virtualization software is projected to become a major software product over the next several years. Solution development is forecasted to center on the integration among services, software, and hardware.

In terms of virtualization products, Taiwanese server manufacturers and network equipment providers are expected to cooperate closely with major system software providers in order to develop comprehensive management and virtualization capabilities for all server and network products.

In addition to following the virtualization software deployment of the major system software providers, system integrators are expected to turn their focus to the areas ignored or neglected by these companies. This way, system integrators can develop new solutions or cloud services leveraging their own advantages. For example, system integrators can develop platforms that integrate the products of different companies or middleware integration platforms combining different CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) and back-end servers and software. Furthermore, system integrators can make full use of the solutions released by branded vendors and cooperate with telecom operators on providing online cloud computing monitoring or assurance services.
