Abstract

Cloud computing is projected to concentrate the computing power in the server end, thereby driving the growth of server-related industries. In addition to the market value of servers and data centers, it is expected that computing-related demand for products and services such as multi-core CPU (Central Processing Unit), storage, and network will be stimulated by cloud computing as well. Driven by the trends of virtualization, energy saving, and cloud computing, it is envisaged that the server industry will see further development in the direction of integration. This research will profile the changes in the Taiwanese server industry over the years and analyze Taiwanese server manufacturers' shipment volume, value, and types, providing an outlook of the industry in 2010 and beyond.
