Abstract

This research report presents Taiwanese server motherboard shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese server motherboard industry. The report includes server motherboard shipment volume, shipment value, ASP, volume and share by maker and by price point, and manufacturer volume ranking. The report also includes shipment by CPU architecture and CPU count. Production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios are examined as well. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with server motherboard makers. Shipment volume and value of the Taiwanese server motherboard industry saw sequential and year-on-year declines in the fourth quarter of 2008 as enterprises continued to scale down IT investment and spending amid the economic downturn. With the ongoing economic crisis, the server motherboard industry is forecasted to continue to see sequential and year-on-year declines in the first quarter of 2009. In the future, the emergence of green data centers is expected to be an important driving force in the industry.
