Abstract

Affected by the global financial turmoil and economic downturn, enterprises have continued scaling down corporate hardware spending. Brand-name vendors and server contract manufacturers also have begun taking a more conservative attitude toward shipments as the outlook for global server shipment remains uncertain in 2009. In anticipation of the continuing economic downturn, they began to reduce their inventory levels in the fourth quarter of 2008.
