Abstract

This research report presents Taiwanese server motherboard shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of the Taiwanese server motherboard industry. The report includes server motherboard shipment volume, shipment value, ASP, volume and share by maker and by price point, and manufacturer volume ranking. Also includes shipment by CPU architecture and CPU count. Production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios are also examined. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with server motherboard makers. In the second quarter of 2008 the industry as a whole experienced slight shipment growth. However, concentration is high, and some second-tier makers are switching to sectors with higher added value such as IPC (Industrial PC). Energy-saving products have become a focus area of the server industry, and these products also represent new possible market opportunities for Taiwanese manufacturers.
