Abstract

In 2006, global PC market scale is expected to top 200 million units. Growth momentum for global desktop PC shipment will mainly come from emerging markets. The Taiwanese notebook PC industry will be somewhat affected by the fact that supply of components for Napa platforms will not start until the second quarter of 2006. With AMD and Intel rolling out new chipsets in the second quarter of 2006, some enterprises are holding off on procurement activities, which will have an impact on the Taiwanese server industry.
