Abstract
Having cast off the specter of the chipset shortage, Taiwanese server industry shipment volume jumped 16.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2005 to 587,000 units, sequential growth of 3.8%. ASP (Average Selling Price) was impacted by the gaining share of barebone shipments; however, shipment value managed to record a 16.4% climb year-on-year and 3% sequentially to US$510 million.
