Abstract

Held in Las Vegas, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 enticed 150,000 visitors worldwide. This year's CES continued to play focus on the development trends of consumer electronic devices, PCs, mobile phones, broadband and smart networking applications as well as fabless ICs. In 2013, after one of HomeGrid members, Lantiq, quitted the development of G.hn (Gigabit Home Networking) products, G.hn camp is expected to face a stiffer competition against other home networking camps. This report outlines major product development trends observed at this year's CES and examines the product strategies of three major G.hn IC solution suppliers: Marvell, Sigma Designs, and Metanoia.
