Abstract

With the development of Smartphone market near maturity, the industrial competition has been expanding from products to marketing strategies. In order to gain media attention, international branded vendors such as BlackBerry, HTC, and Samsung chose to separately hold their flagship product launch shows instead of making product debuts in international exhibitions such as CES (Consumer Electronics Show) or MWC (Mobile World Congress). Nevertheless, at this year's MWC, there were still a wide range of new phones showcased, mainly entry-level and mid-range models. This report profiles new products demonstrated by branded venders at MWC 2013 and examines their strategies amid signs of maturity in the industry.
