Abstract

As of the second quarter of 2012, the number of global LTE subscribers topped over 20.0 million, over 97% of which were constituted by subscribers in Asia and North America, according to MIC. In addition, as of June 2012 there were a total of 80 telecom operators officially launched their LTE networks, 20 of which were European and/or US operators, indicating strong growth momentum in Europe and the United States. Though the number of operators launching LTE services is relatively small in Asia and Africa, in anticipation of a lucrative market thanks to large populations, operators in Asia and Africa still stand their chances in 4G race. This report profiles the current development of leading LTE operators and supply chain companies in pan-America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa and provides an insight into future LTE market trends.
