Judging from the trends presented above, it is expected that mobile broadband development will eventually lead to the embedding of WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) chipsets in all kinds of IT products. Furthermore, mobile communications operators are expected to become the foremost channel distributors of ICT terminal devices and take a leading role in specification development. With their sizable subscriber base and advantage of offering subsidies, mobile communications operators will likely become power buyers of ICT devices in the future, a development expected to play an instrumental role in changing the operating mechanism of the ICT industry.
