Global Fixed Broadband Market Recovering in 2024, Depending Highly on Macro Environment Changes: MIC
June 24, 2024

In 2024, with significant improvements in inventory and the release of order signals from some key telecom operators, several chipmakers - namely Airoha, Broadcom, Maxlinear, and Realtek - saw improved revenues in the first quarter. The overall fixed broadband equipment market is anticipated to stabilize and resume growth this year.

Looking ahead to the development of the fixed broadband market in 2024, it can be observed from perspectives within and outside China. In China, apart from China Mobile, both China Telecom and China Unicom are expected to upgrade their fiber networks in various service areas with GPON/10GPON configurations, including options with or without Wi-Fi specifications, to meet government requirements. However, whether actual shipment volumes will match the announced procurement quantities depends on overall economic performance and actual demand intensity from end-users.
