JDI to Establish Subsidiary in Taiwan
October 28, 2013

Japanese panel maker JDI (Japan Display Inc.) announced that it plans to establish a 100% owned subsidiary, TDI (Taiwan Display Inc.), in Taiwan to tap the lucrative market of China's small and medium-sized white-box panels, as reported by Taiwan's Economic Daily News on October 24. TDI will begin operation by the end of this year in Taipei, with an initial capital of NT$30 million. Based on its LTPS (Low Temperature Poly-Silicon) and In-cell touch panel technologies, JDI aims to increase its market share in China and make inroads into European and US markets in the future, according to the report.
