Hitachi said that affected by fierce price competitions and weak market demand, the company plans to outsource all Hitachi-brand TV production to Taiwanese and other overseas TV manufacturers, according to an August 4, 2011 report by the Economic Daily News of Taiwan. Hitachi is expected to continue its TV business, but the company considers halting operations at its only domestic TV production factory in Minokamo, Gifu Prefecture by the end of this fiscal year.
