Samsung Electronics and LG Display exhibited the companies' 3D LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) displays at FPD (Flat Panel Display) China 2011 held in Shanghai between March 15 and March 17 this year, according to a March 22, 2011 report by the Nikkei Electronics. It is reported that Samsung adopts the frame sequential method that uses active-type liquid crystal shutter glasses and an LCD panel driven at 120 Hz or 240 Hz. LG adopts the polarizing filter method that requires viewers to wear polarized glasses. When using this method, images are displayed for both right and left eyes on an LCD panel equipped with a polarizing filter.
