Foxconn to Expand Workforce, Production Capacity of its LCD TV Plant in Slovakia

Foxconn is reported to increase its number of employees by one third from the current 3,000 to 3,900 at its LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV plant located in Nitra, Slovakia, according to a January 12, 2011 report by the Hospodarske Noviny financial daily of Slovakia. Foxconn purchased the Slovakia plant from Sony in 2010. It is reported that annual LCD TV set output of the Slovakia plant in 2010 reached 3 million units, with the workforce increase, Foxconn aims to boost production by 50% to more than 4.5 million units in 2011, according to the same source.
