AUO, TPV to Set Up LCD Venture in Poland

manufacturer AUO and LCD TV manufacturer TPV have decided to set up a joint
venture in Poland, Taiwan's Central News Agency reported on March 12. Named BriVictory
Display Technology, the AUO-TPV venture will be located in Gorzow and is
expected to engage in LCD module production and TV set ODM (Original Design
Manufacturing). With an initial capital of approximately US$40 million,
BriVictory Display Technology will be 51% owned by AUO and 49% owned by TPV.
Currently pending regulatory approval, the new venture is expected to become AUO's
third module plant in Europe, after the ones in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
