Taiwanese LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel manufacturers AUO, CMO, and CPT are expected to land panel procurement orders valued at approximately US$5 billion from Chinese TV manufacturers, Taiwan's United Daily News reported on January 12. The three Taiwanese panel manufacturers are scheduled to attend a cross-strait flat-panel display industry meeting in Beijing on January 20, and it is expected that the deal will be signed at the meeting. Nine Chinese TV manufacturers, led by the CVIA (China Video Industry Association), are expected to take part in the procurement program. Haier Group, Hisense Group, TCL, Skyworth, Konka, Panda Electronics, SVA, Changhong Electric, and Xoceco are among the prospective buyers, according to the United Daily News report.
