Taiwanese LED (Light Emitting Diode) packaging service providers Lite-On Technology and Everlight Electronics have entered the supply chains of Korean LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV vendors Samsung and LG, Taiwan's Economic Daily News reported on October 16. Lite-On and Everlight are expected to start shipping SMD (Surface Mount Device) LEDs for use in LCD TV backlights to Samsung and LG in the fourth quarter of 2009. It is reported that the two Taiwanese companies' LED shipments will be mainly for 46-, 47-, 52-, and 55-inch LCD TV models.
