Taiwanese LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel makers AUO and CMO revealed in respective filings with the Taiwan Stock Exchange on January 16 that they have reached strategic panel supply deals with nine major Chinese TV makers, Taipei Times reported on January 17. It is reported that the US$2.2 billion panel supply deals were signed at a cross-strait industry forum in Fuzhou, China. The nine Chinese TV makers include TCL Multimedia, Haier Group, Changhong Electric, Konka Group, Hisense, and Skyworth Digital. Overall, the supply deals are expected to represent orders for more than 12 million LCD panels of various sizes, according to additional reports by the Chinese-language China Times.
