- China Mobile has officially announced its delayed second phase TD-SCMDA equipment bid results, the China Business News reported on November 13. Winners of the tender included Datang Mobile and its affiliates, namely Alcatel-Shanghai Bell, Fiberhome, and New Postcom. They have jointly acquired around 35-40% of the tender, of which Datang Mobile won 25%. ZTE was rewarded 28%of the tender, Huawei 17-18%, Nokia Siemens Networks 8%, Potevio 6%, and Ericsson 4.5%. Additionally, TD-SCDMA commercial trials in China's 28 major cities is projected to kick off in June 2009, according to the same source.

- With the release of its second phase TD-SCDMA equipment bid results, China Mobile reportedly is planning for its third phase TD-SCDMA network deployment in 162 cities in China, according to Sohu IT News on November 14. The company is likely to invite third-phase TD-SCDMA equipment bids in March 2009 at the soonest, according to the same source.

- Motorola revealed its plan to commercialize TD-SCDMA mobile phones in 2010, according to Sohu News on November 13 quoting Ching Chuang, President of Motorola China R&D Institute. Chuang also stated that the company will begin to conduct trials for TD-SCDMA phone models in March 2008. The new device is likely to be a mobile phone based on TDD (Time Division Duplex) version of LTE (Long Term Evolution), according to the same source. Further details, however, were not yet disclosed.
