LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) solution provider EDT (Emerging Display Technologies), headquartered in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, recently revealed its aim to step up capacitive touch panel production starting in 2009, Taiwan's Economic Daily News reported. EDT has individual production lines for color filters and M-STN (Monochrome Super Twisted Nematic) and C-STN (Color Super Twisted Nematic) LCD panels, and these lines can be readily utilized for various phases of the capacitive touch panel production process. EDT expects to begin mass production of capacitive touch panels for contract orders in the first quarter of 2009.
