Sharp Sees New LCD Production Plans Take Form in India, Poland, Mexico

Sharp's subsidiary in India has kicked off LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV production at its factory located in Koregaon Bhima, India, Myiris.com reported on August 26. Along with other products including TVs, VCRs (Video Cassette Recorders), VCPs (Video Cassette Players), and audio devices, the LCD TV will be marketed under the brand name Optonica.

Meanwhile, Sharp also stated that it plans to boost LCD production in both Poland and Mexico, according to New York Times. Further details concerning the respective production capacities and investment amounts have not been disclosed yet.
