CMO to Postpone LCD Module Project in Vietnam by Six Months

Taiwanese LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel maker CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics) recently announced that the company will push back its LCD Module plant construction project in northern Vietnam by at least six months, Thanh Nien Daily of Vietnam reported on August 15. It is reported that the plant, which was originally set to begin mass production at the start of 2010, will be relocated in a new site. The tie-up between CMO and Taiwanese PC maker Wistron for land development in Vietnam will also be postponed, according to a report by Economic Daily News of Taiwan on August 12.
