LG Inaugurates Second China LCD Module Plant in Guangzhou

In a bid to tap the robust demand for LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TVs in China, LG Display announced on April 9 the inauguration of its second LCD Module plant in Guangzhou, Korean.net reported.

According to the same report, LG Display expects to boost the annual production capacity of the new plant to 20 million LCD modules for use in TVs and monitors by 2010, up from 11 million units at present. The company, however, declined to disclose its total investment in this new facility. In China, aside from the Guangzhou plant, LG Display also has an LCD module plant in Nanjing.
