Shanghai Tianma Completes Construction on 4.5G TFT-LCD Panel Plant

On March 31, 2008, Shanghai Tianma Microelectronics held a completion ceremony at its 4.5G TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) panel plant located in the Zhangjiang High Tech Zone of Pudong district, Chinese-language Xinmin Evening News reported.
According to the local press, Shanghai Tianma's new facility is the first dedicated 4.5G production line with proprietary intellectual property rights in China. Slated to reach the maximum production capacity of 30,000 glass substrates per month in the second quarter of 2008, this 4.5G line targets the worldwide small- and medium-sized display market for panels measuring 10.4-inch and smaller. Main applications are projected to include mobile devices, automotive displays, industrial control instruments, and entertainment displays.
