Matsushita announced that it has developed a source driver LSI (Large Scale Integration) for LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TVs. In comparison with the existing models, Matsushita's new source driver LSI is projected to cut power consumption by half and reduce the number of driver ICs used. Also, the new LSI features a high-speed interface and enables high display quality at relatively low cost. Mass production and shipment of this new product are scheduled to commence in December 2007.
