Sony to Unveil High-speed Cell Computing Board at SIGGRAPH 2007

Sony declared on August 1, 2007 that a newly developed prototype of its high-speed Cell Computing Board will be debuted in SIGGRAPH 2007, to be held in San Diego from August 7 to 9, 2007. Combining the strengths of the Cell Broadband Engine microprocessor developed by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba and RSX graphics processor jointly created by Sony and Nvidia, the Cell Computing Board boasts a computational speed of over 230 gigaflops. The technology is designed for applications in multimedia as well as scientific computations.
