Compal to Manufacture Notebook PCs in Vietnam

According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, the Vietnam government has approved Taiwanese Compal's application to set up a notebook PC plant in Vietnam. Compal will build a new plant in Vinh Phuc Province for NT$16.5 billion (US$ 503.2 million; US$1 = NT$ 32.8), initially manufacturing only notebook PCs, to compensate for the capacity shortage at its Chinese plants.
