Jilin Shihua Digital Electronics Builds LCD TV Plant in Jilin, China

According to Chinese-language Xinhua news, Jilin Shihua Digital Electronics, a subsidiary of Hong Kong Shihua Group, has started construction on an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV and digital electronics manufacturing facility in the Jilin Economic and Technological Development Zone in northeastern China. The project involves a total investment of 1.1 billion RMB (US$144.4 million; US$1 = 7.6RMB) and covers an area of 130,000 square meters. With a planned annual capacity of 1.5 million units, the facility is expected to start first-phase production by the end of 2007.
