HDIC, IPCore Develop China's First Homegrown DTV Demodulator IC

Shanghai-based HDIC (High Definition Technology Industrial) and IPCore Technologies have jointly developed China's first home-made DTV (Digital Television) demodulator IC, HD2810A, using 0.13um process technology. HD2810A supports single-frequency single-carrier network and meets the requirements for terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting, vehicular mobile communication, and high-definition transmission for the Beijing Olympics. China's SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation) has moved into production of HD2810A, which is reported to have received 500,000 orders worldwide.
