Shen-Chao Starts Construction on 5G LCD Panel Plant in Shenzhen

China's Shen-Chao Optronics has started construction on a 5G LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel plant in Shenzhen, according to Chinese Sina News. Equipment installation is slated for April 2008, with production to start by the end of the same year. Initially, the plant is expected to turn out 60,000 units. The ultimate monthly output is projected to reach 90,000 units. Hsiang-Kuei Chung, formerly with Chunghwa Picture Tubes, will head the construction of the plant.
