Hitachi-LG to Debut Blu-ray/HD DVD Combo Drive at CeBIT

Hitachi-LG is reported to debut a combo ODD (Optical Disk Drive) integrating Blu-ray burning and reading functions with HD DVD read-only capability at the CeBIT 2007 in Germany. Hitachi-LG's GGW-H10N Super Multi Blue drive will be the first of its kind to enable hybrid Blu-ray/HD DVD functions in PC. It can record as much as 50GB data and is expected to be priced at US$1,200. Hitachi-LG is slated to deliver initial shipments to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) makers in May 2007.
