Samsung Invests 1 Bln RMB in Second Suzhou LCD Plant

According to a SinoCast China Business Daily News report, Samsung has commenced construction on its second LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) plant in Suzhou, China. This new facility will be devoted to the production of large-sized LCD panels for TVs and is scheduled to start production in September 2007. The expansion project is expected to top one billion RMB (US$129.05 million; US$1 = 7.75 RMB) overall. By the end of 2007, Samsung's monthly LCD output in Suzhou is thereby projected to increase from three million to five million units.
